Why? (3T feat. Michael Jackson)

Directed by: Ralph Ziman & Michael Jackson [1996]

Stranger In Moscow

The video clip is starring Michael Jackson.
The shooting of the video clip took place in an unused hangar in Van Nuys [CA, U.S.A.]. A short time before, Michael Jackson's movie "Ghosts" was filmed at that very same location.
Remarkable about the clip is that all the scenes viewers will get to see are in slow-motion with the exception of Michael's. This technique enabled the clip's director to capture the feeling of loneliness perfectly.
Michael's make-up was created by Karen Faye.
Video clip produced by Bridget Blake-Wilson. Directed by: Nicholas Brandt [1996]

They Don't Care About Us (Prison Version)

The video clip is starring Michael Jackson.
The shooting of this second "They Don't Care About Us" video clip, the so-called "Prison Version", took place in a studio in New York.
The video clip contains relatively violent, true-to-life images [Rodney King beating, Los Angeles riots, China's military shooting on a mass demonstration for democracy in Beijing, Vietnam war etc.]. MTV and many other TV stations banned the video clip from their programs, other music channels aired the clip only late-nights.
Michael's make-up was created by Karen Faye.
Video clip produced by Butch Robinson. Directed by: Spike Lee [1996]

They Don't Care About Us (Brazilian Version)

The World première of the video clip took place on March 22, 1996 on many TV channels throughout the world with the exception of the U.S.A.
The video clip is starring Michael Jackson and co-starring Olodum [200 member percussion group].
The shooting of the video clip took place in Dona Marta, a shantytown south of Rio de Janeiro [Brazil] and downtown Bahia, Pelourinho [Brazil].
Even before commencement of filming, the video clip hit headlines all around the world. Certain politicians were concerned that Michael Jackson's video would tarnish the image of the city - candidate for the Olympic Games of 2004 - by showing the world the true story of the misery that reigns in Rio's shantytowns.
The governor of Rio, faced with the perceived threat of the video, simply decided to forbid Spike Lee and Michael Jackson to film anything whatsoever in this city. The decree was, however, quickly struck down by a government official who said that "it would be worse for international opinion to censure the shoot than to show the reality of the shantytowns".
Over 150 policemen secured the area as the filming was being done.
There are two video versions of "They Don't Care About Us" - both directed by Spike Lee. The "Prison" version and the "Brazilian" version. The prison version was released after the Brazilian version because reportedly Michael was not entireley satisfied with the result of the first clip.
Michael's make-up was created by Karen Faye.
The full-length video clip version - just over 7 minutes long, can be found on "HIStory On Film - Volume II".

Earth Song

The World première of the video clip took place on November 15, 1995 on MTV.
The video clip is starring Michael Jackson.
"Earth Song" is considered one of the best video clips Michael Jackson has ever done. The clip's entire theme, the eschatalogical mood and its message... an absolutely phenomenal short film!
The shooting of the video clip took place on four continents:
The Amazon Rainforest [footage incl. natives to the region].
Croatia [shot in the war zone with residents of the area].
Tanzania [footage incl. Masai and their own village]. While filming was in progress an African elephant [not pictured in the video!]
was killed by poachers within miles of the shoot.
New York [forest fire scenes were created on a 6 acre outdoor set in a corn field in Warwick, New York]. The shooting of the footage ocurred within the same week as thousands of acres of forest on Long Island and New Jersey were destroyed due to arson.
Video clip produced by Bridget Blake Wilson. Directed by: Nicholas Brandt [1995]

You Are Not Alone

The World première of the video clip took place on July 28, 1995 on U.S. TV-channels ABC, BET and MTV.
The video clip is starring Michael Jackson and his then-wife Lisa Marie Presley.
The theatre sequences were shot at "Pantages Theatre" in Hollywood [in 1997 the historic theatre hosted the gala "Happy Birthday Elizabeth - A Celebration Of Life", with Michael performing "Elizabeth, I love you", all swimming-pool sequences were shot at Raleigh Stages. Location shooting took place at Death Valley [Monterey] as well as at Lake Powell [Utah]. Editing and special effects realization took place at "Pacific Ocean Post" Studio and "525 Post Production" Studio in Santa Monica [CA].
It took 5 days to complete shooting of the clip "You Are Not Alone", plus another 5 days to edit and create the special effects.
According to director Wayne Isham, the very last scene of Michael and Lisa Marie was filmed without the couple's knowledge.
Isham had previously worked with Michael for the "Billie Jean" video clip, at that time as an electrician.
For the release of "HIStory On Film - Volume II", sequences of Michael in an "angelic look" had been included. This particular clip version can only be found on the video clips compilation as these sequences have not been included in the officially released clip intended for network television.
Video clip produced by Joe Plewa. Directed by: Wayne Isham [1995]

Childhood (Theme From "Free Willy 2")

The World première of the video clip took place sometime in July on MTV USA.
The video clip is starring Michael Jackson and "Free Willy 2" actors Jason James Richter and Francis Capra.
Shooting of the video clip took place during the night at "Sequoia National Park" which is located about halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco [about a five-hour drive from each city].
Michael's wish was to capture the park's enchanting atmosphere at nightfall.
Video clip produced by Bridget Blake-Wilson. Directed by: Nicholas Brandt [1995]

Scream (Duet With Michael Jackson & Janet Jackson)

The World première of the video clip took place on June 14, 1995 on U.S. TV-channel ABC during the legendary "Primetime Interview" with Michael and Lisa Marie. The interview, held by Diane Sawyer, was broadcast live around the world, Sony Picture Studios, Los Angeles, U.S.A.
